PRIMARY FOCUS:

Our files are small and focus only on Internet publicity for B&B Inns & Activities in Hawaii. In addition to search engine listings we subscribe to many Nat. & Int. B&B files. These inclusions may cost from $35 to $300 per year for each one. We also spend a great deal of time maintaining a high placement on the major search engines and directories.

EXPERIENCE:

Our web files have been online since 1994, when we realized that the internet was going to be the best way to advertise small Bed & Breakfast Inns. In addition to key words, meta tags and hot links, one of the main factors used by the search engines for higher placement is the longevity of the file. Having your advertising on a site that has an eight-year history of B&B publicity is very advantageous. For example, try doing a search on your favorite search engine for "hawaii bed and breakfast". Although there are no guarantees because the placements can change daily, http://www.hawaii-inns.com/ and http://www.hawaii-bnb.com/ are usually right up there on the first page!

ORIGINALITY:

We want each Inn to carry its own ambiance into our web site. Be yourself! We do not want dittos, peas in a pod or a cookie cutter file. You are free to be creative. Your Inn will be presented in our files geographically, which makes it much easier for guests to find your location.

NETWORKING:

If there are bookings that you cannot accommodate, these can be referred back to IHWS for networking to all of our other subscribers. This can be an excellent source of reservations and is especially important during peak seasons like Ironman and the winter months when we have many visitors coming to the Hawaii. We also network to back each other up in case of the dreaded double booking!

INSPECTION:

All of our Inns are published as inspected, giving visitors assurance of quality. We accept inspections by AAA, HIBBA or any on site inspection or association. IHWS is also available to make an inspections if needed, and will make suggestions and take photographs if requested at the same time.

THE TECHNICAL STUFF:

First there is the construction of your personal web page. You may have your page already up on the web or have one in progress. If you do have pages up on the web then we will copy the pages and convert them over into our files. Your current file will remain untouched and will still be accessible where you have it now. Except for our index pages we do not allow hot links outside of our html files to other web addresses. In this way we help surfing travelers stay within our system as long as possible in looking for a B&B Inn. Also each page links back to our Home Page, Map and Index so folks can easily surf the system. We may make some suggestions about the loading time of your site, which should only take about 20 seconds, and what meta tags and key words will result in better access on the web by the locator engines & robots.

KEY WORDS & META TAGS:

The meta tags and the first 200 characters (not words) are very important in determining your web page placement on the web engines and directories. Your key words should be woven into these characters as many times as possible but no more than 8 times. Look at the other sites or play with key words on the web to see how they come up with other B&B's. We will help, if needed. The key words "Hawaii Bed and Breakfast Inns" work well, but there are many more excellent combinations. In your first 200 characters an important key word should be listed at least 3 times but no more than 8 or many robots may consider it "spamming" and knock you way down on their listings or even remove your web pages from their files.
