Hawaii Bed Breakfast "Hobbit House" A Bed Breakfast
Adventure in Eco-Tourism On The Big Island

Explore the wonders Hawaii from the comfort of this whimsical bed
& breakfast...
Quote from Best Places to
Stay in Hawaii "This is one of the
more unusual places to stay I have ever seen...If you want a bit of
mystery and imagination in your vacation, and little stories lying in wait
around every corner, you'll appreciate it here. It's enchanting, rather
like you'd expect a hobbit's house to be."
Adventures begin at the storybook "Hobbit House" Bed & Breakfast,
located in private seclusion on the lush, tropical Mauna Loa mountainside
on the Big Island's south side. The whimsical architecture is a
"gingerbread" design with hand-hewn beams and stained glass windows framed
in native wood. It is remotely located a half mile up a 4WD jeep trail
away from the noise of the main highway.
Sweeping views of orchard and ranch land down to the blue pacific
shoreline greet the visitor to this Waiohinu village hideaway. Waiohinu is
historically rich as it was the first area to be inhabited by the arriving
Polynesians who chose the area for it's lush vegetation and fresh water
springs, still the best on the island today. Mark Twain stayed in this
very area for a week and planted a monkey pod tree before heading
off to the volcano, 30 miles by mule.
Watch humpback whales, dolphins, and endangered sea turtles from the
palm studded black sand beaches of Punalu'u. Hike early morning the nature
trails of Manuka Refuge seeking elusive glimpses of Hawaii's rare forest
songbirds. Carry a picnic lunch to the steep olivine-specked dunes of
Hawaii's famous Green Sand Beach. See fisherman hauling catches up the
40'-cliffs or casting throw nets into the swirling surf backwaters. Spend
the day in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Kayak, snorkel, golf, or just
wander the sleepy villages amidst the monkeypod trees so loved by Mark
Twain.
Then return to your private "Hobbit House" B&B for a quiet bath
while the soft light of day fades from the valleys below.

"Hobbit House" B&B is off the beaten path, powered by wind and
solar energy.
A perfect bed &
breakfast for a Honeymoon, Anniversary or Birthday!
Four rooms are privately yours. Your quiet haven includes a
full kitchen, antique queen bedroom, luxurious bathroom and a spacious
living room with southern panoramic coastal views. We are located one half
mile above the highway away from the morning traffic noise which makes for
a great nights sleep.
Watch for Humpbacks from the bayseat window during whale
season.
